🌍 Back from the Ukraine Recovery Conference with a strengthened conviction: 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗸𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲’𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 ou Supporting the reconstruction and modernization of the power grid is vital for Ukraine’s country-wide resilience.

EDF International Networks was proud to take part in this event, which brought together key stakeholders involved in Ukraine’s recovery and rebuilding efforts.

During the conference we had the opportunity to engage with the entire energy ecosystem: electricity distribution companies, local authorities, industrial partners, equipment suppliers, engineering firms, and many others. All united by a common objective: rebuilding stronger, more resilient infrastructure that is fit for the challenges of tomorrow.

🔹 We also had the privilege of meeting with the teams from the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy, including the Deputy Minister, to discuss our current and future projects aimed at enhancing the operational resilience of electricity networks. These inspiring conversations echoed the priorities presented at the Energy Platform: strengthening energy security, developing more decentralized energy systems, and accelerating the transformation of Ukraine’s energy sector.

The conference also provided an opportunity to participate in the Energy Platform’s thematic sessions, as well as side events organized by DTEK and Razom We Stand, fostering valuable exchanges and practical insights on reconstruction and the energy transition.

Above all, what we will remember from this mission is the incredible energy we felt on the ground. Despite the challenges, we met determined, committed people focused on the future. Their collective drive to rebuild, innovate, and prepare for what comes next was truly inspiring.

👉 More than ever, we believe that our expertise as a distribution network operator can contribute, to this effort. And we are proud that EDF International Networks can play a part in supporting Ukraine’s path toward recovery.

EDF International Networks Study Tours: Sharing Expertise in Power Distribution

As every year, June provided many opportunities to welcome international delegations and share EDF Group’s expertise in power distribution, network operations, asset management, maintenance, and the digital transformation of utilities.

Our Study Tours are designed to provide a comprehensive immersion into the world of distribution system operators, covering topics such as:
🔹 Smart grids and digitalization of operations
🔹 Asset management and infrastructure maintenance
🔹 Quality of supply and service continuity
🔹 Integration of renewable energy sources and network flexibility
🔹 Crisis management and power system resilience

Each program is tailor-made to match the technical expectations of participants, whether they are utility operators, regulators, government representatives, public authorities, or energy industry executives.
Participant testimonial “This Study Tour gave us a concrete understanding of the organization and methods used to operate a modern power distribution network. The discussions with EDF experts were particularly insightful and directly applicable to our national context.”

Beyond the site visits, these exchanges foster peer-to-peer learning, skills development, and the creation of long-term partnerships to collectively address the challenges of the energy transition.

🌍 We were delighted to welcome a delegation from SOMELEC this week, in collaboration with RTE international, as part of an exchange program focused on power distribution network operations and skills development.

🔹 Throughout the discussions, participants had the opportunity to compare experiences, share operational approaches, and exchange views on the challenges currently facing network operators, including operational performance, the evolution of technical professions, workforce upskilling, and adaptation to the ongoing transformation of the energy sector.

🔹 Beyond the sharing of best practices, these joint efforts highlight the importance of cooperation among industry stakeholders to support the development of electrical networks and prepare the skills needed to meet tomorrow’s challenges.

😊 A sincere thank you to the SOMELEC delegation for the quality and richness of the discussions, as well as to all the teams involved for their commitment and contribution to the success of this event.

🌍 Great conversations in Gdańsk during a side event of the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026, organised by Razom We Stand.

Our Head of Europe & North America, Mathieu Carluer, had the opportunity to share how EDF International Networks is actively supporting the reconstruction and modernisation of Ukraine’s power distribution system.

🔹 One key takeaway: distribution grids are at the heart of Ukraine’s energy resilience and its low‑carbon future.

🔹 From planning tomorrow’s networks to deploying digital substations, smart metering, storage, and microgrids, the discussions focused on concrete, actionable solutions already making a difference.

👉 Beyond the technical aspects, this was also a moment to exchange, align, and reinforce a collective commitment: building robust, flexible and future‑ready energy systems for Ukraine.

👏 Proud to contribute to this effort alongside committed partners
